<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I got an email from Chris &#8220;The_Tick&#8221; Forsythe today that reminded of this blog. It seems that blogs of wiki projects don&#8217;t get much attention but maybe they should. Chris has posted a new resource to the Cocoa dev community: MacCode repo. It&#8217;s hosted on Google.</p>
<blockquote><p>My name is Chris Forsythe, and I think you may be able to help with something I&#8217;ve been working on in my spare time (spare time, hah!). The long and short of it is that I&#8217;ve setup a code repo for mac code which can be reused. My hope is that this might be useful to folks, I know it&#8217;s already come in handy for me a couple of times. This is based out of the frustration that I and others have had when trying to find code instead of having a single place to look to find stuff. Jonathan Wright originally came up with the idea.</p></blockquote>
<p>Check it out <a title="MacCode repo" href="http://code.google.com/p/maccode/">MacCode repo</a>.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was but the weekend of not only <a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Main/CocoaDevHouseLondon">CocoaDevHouseLondon</a> but <a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Main/CocoaDevHouseTexas">CocoaDevHouseTexas</a> as well. The London event (<a href="http://upcoming.org/event/103290">rsvp on upcoming</a>) is provisionally set to occur at the &#8220;Idea Store&#8221; at the Canary Wharf, according to Richy King <a href="http://groups.google.com/group/CocoaDevHouse/browse_thread/thread/6097a92aab34bfb5/4966ab1b1cc917cb#4966ab1b1cc917cb">via this google groups message</a> (<a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&#038;hl=en&#038;q=E14+5RB&#038;ie=UTF8&#038;ll=51.504382,-0.013765&#038;spn=0.003292,0.011995&#038;t=k&#038;om=1">map</a>). The venue for the Austin event is still undecided but will be resolved within the next two days, updates will be made to the <a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Main/CocoaDevHouseTexas">wiki page</a> as well as the <a href="http://groups.google.com/group/CocoaDevHouse">google group</a>.</p>
<p>We will be attempting a CocoaDevHouse link up via iChat AV or otherwise, depending how organized things go this upcoming saturday (<a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Calendar/20060909">Sept. 9th</a>). If you are planning on attending either one of the events, feel free to add yourself to their respective wiki pages (<a href="<a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Main/CocoaDevHouseLondon">london</a>, <a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Main/CocoaDevHouseTexas">texas (austin)</a>). Both events should be a blast as we&#8217;ve got plenty lined up in terms of presentations as well as discussions, etc. </p>
<p>We will be sure to upload presentations, sample code, tutorials, and anything else that is generated from either of the events and I&#8217;ll post again here postmortem linking to everybody&#8217;s contributions to CocoaDevHouse(London/Texas). If you&#8217;re going to blog, flickr, or tag anything regarding these two events, the suggested tags are: <i>cocoadevhouse, cocoadevhousetexas, cocoadevhouselondon, cdhtexas, cdhlondon</i></p>
<p>A special thanks to <a href="http://www.realmacsoftware.com/">Realmac software</a>, <a href="http:/wiredupandfiredup.com/">Wired Up &#038; Fired Up</a> and <a href="http://www.bitcartel.com/">bitcartel</a> for their sponsorship of CocoaDevHouseLondon.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just when you thought it was safe to pack away your PowerBooks, MacBooks, and iBooks, CocoaDevHouse is back! Organization for <a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Main/CocoaDevHouseTexas">CocoaDevHouseTexas</a>, which will meet in Austin, is already underway so feel free to add yourself to the list of attendees. <a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Profiles/ChrisForsythe">Chris Forsythe</a>, of <a href="http://www.growl.info">Growl</a>, <a href="http://www.adiumx.com">Adium</a>, and <a href="http://www.foomsoftware.com">Foom Software</a> will be giving a presentation, as well as demonstrating a new application. Second on the list of presentations is my own (<a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Profiles/RTylerBallance">R. Tyler Ballance</a>) presentation on using the Dumbarton bridge to leverage the cross-platform power of C# (via <a href="http://www.go-mono.org">Mono</a>).</p>
<p>The event is currently scheduled for Sept. 9th, coincidentally, the same date of <a href="http://cocoadevhouse.org/wiki/index.php/Main/CocoaDevHouseLondon">CocoaDevHouseLondon</a>. We&#8217;ve got people travelling from Dallas/Plano, Houston, and San Antonio, so if you need/want to carpool, just contact one of the individuals on the current list of attendees, hope to see you there!
