There's a far better write up on http://www.nikfletcher.com/index_files/cocoa-dev-house-london-writeup.html
Ok, he's a basic breakdown of what we got upto throughout the day. Please feel free to append/edit/comment.
Saturday a.m.
- Everyone grabbed the cool free stuff!
- Abizer was the first person attending with a dongle capable of connecting to the projecter. We tested the connection with Quicktime movies of the Applie 1984 advert and "Rusty, the narcoleptic dog". He provided a brief TextMate? demo and then played the TextMate? screencasts while more DevHousers? turned up.
- This was followed by a presentation by Nik on RapidWeaver? where he explained the basic premise behind the application and also some of it's more advanced features (and convinced me to use it!)
- Richy did a quick demo of Scooter the next app he's planning to release and got some good feedback regarding possible enhancements, pointers to better ways to layout things like the help and pricing suggestions.
- Simon then took to the floor and demonstrated the three current BitCartel? applications (including the very polished looking ComicBookLover?) and then gave us a sneak preview of his next project (which is definitley going to be a hit IMO).
- We then decided that we'd go for lunch and afterwards begin to work on the Bonsoir application developed at CocoaDevHouseTexas
- About an hour or two of hacking ensued with everyone pitching in testing and trying to figure out a few problems with the app.
- A visitor from the world of media turned up and gave a talk and demo on an application that unfortunately I can't go into much detail about, he was looking for people interested in helping out with the project and we talked about it for an hour or two
- Coding gave way to discussions around media/p2p/licensing and the like
- Then to the pub for some dinner (chips), a couple of beers and more talking.
